It has been a busy few months in 3-1! We just finished up learning all about light: how it travels, where it comes from, and how we see. It was a fun unit with lots of experiments with lights, mirrors, and many other materials. This past few weeks, we have been learning about the Olympics. We have been studying opening ceremonies (check out our movies), Olympic athletes (fakebook pages to come), and Winter sports (slideshows to come). It's been fun following the sports and athletes in the Olympics as we learn about them.
We've been working on writing about literature, reading My Name is Maria Isabel as a class and writing about character traits.
We just finished Frindle- the play was so much fun! We have started reading Gregor The Overlander, one of Ms. Redmon and Mrs. Danley's favorites!
We really enjoyed our field trip to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. It was a funny show filled with aliens and beautiful music.
We will soon be starting to learn about Illinois. We look forward to sharing about everything we learn about the Native Americans through current times in Illinois.
