It's been a busy week in room 119!
In Mrs. Danley's reading class, we are reviewing main ideas using a National Geographic article about spiders! We are looking at text features: pictures and captions, headings, titles, and labeled pictures. We are also looking at sections and determining "What is this section all about?"
In Mrs. Danley's writing class, we have chosen our first narrative to revise. We practiced highlighting a sentence we wanted to "add more detail after," and we have also highlighted a sentence we want to "rewrite." Next week we will be picking the best moment of our stories to "explode" and then begin typing our drafts.
We have finished Unit 2 in math and will begin Unit 3 next week- perimeter and area will be featured.
In social studies, we have been very busy preparing for our Westgate World's Fair for next Wednesday, October 23rd. We have researched and created slides for Turkey, Mexico, Germany, and Poland. We have also been making crafts from that country. We can't wait to show you what we have created, next Wednesday.
